Tric a Chlic, the Welsh medium synthetic phonics programme, is celebrating its 10th birthday. Since the original programme was established it is now a scheme that is used nationally in Welsh and English medium schools, alike. Schools all over Wales, in every region, are investing and benefiting significantly from the programme.

To mark this important occasion, and also on World Book Day, we’ve decided to launch the new Tric a Chlic website. This will be the new home of all Tric a Chlic content! Schools and parents were given the opportunity to trial the website and provide feedback. Thank you very much to everyone who has already done so, your comments and feedback are extremely valuable to us as we plan and develop the programme further. If you have ideas that you would like to share, then please send them to [email protected].

We were lucky enough to be able to celebrate the occasion with Ysgol Gymraeg Lon Las, in Swansea and we had a lovely morning with some pupils from the school’s Reception class who use the programme daily. Thank you very much for the warm welcome!

Over the next few months, we will be adding to the website under your guidance, the users! But for now, and to continue with the celebration we have added new resources to the shop:

We are also aware that some are having difficulties installing or running our Tric a Chlic apps on their mobile devices and tablets. As a temporary measure, while we try to find a permanent solution, we have made both apps available here, on the website, so you can continue to use and enjoy them!
